Light of Hope Charity Concert at Michael J. Fox Theatre, Burnaby

Illuminating art exhibition and concert at the International Art Museum of America (IAMA), contributes $29,000 to IAMA

The Fireflies hosted a day-long art, music, and fundraising event, “Illuminating,” celebrating the creativity and talent of young artists and performers. The event featured a stunning range of artworks—from traditional oil, brush, and ink paintings to digital, abstract, and cartoon creations—alongside dynamic musical performances including opera, instrumental pieces, rap, and comedy. Each participant shone like a glittering firefly, collectively illuminating the museum and inspiring hope, imagination, and a bright future for the community.


The event successfully raised US$29,000 to support the museum’s ongoing mission of promoting art and education, empowering youth to use their talents to make a meaningful impact. As part of the program, performers also visited Stanford University and leading high-tech companies, gaining insight into innovation and creativity while strengthening their vision for shaping a vibrant, culturally enriched future.

Through her book and primary source, Dear Journal, It’s Me Little Darlene, a deeply personal diary that chronicles her life and echoes the experiences of countless others, the team absorbed lessons of resilience, courage, and empathy. This encounter not only deepened their understanding of history but also inspired the Fireflies to carry forward the values of compassion, social responsibility, and active engagement, empowering youth to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
